Derek Jackson M. Sc., B. Sc. Tech., has a background in chemical engineering and is a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and Registered Trade Mark Attorney, a European Patent Attorney and a European Community Trade Mark and Design Attorney. Before establishing Derek Jackson Associates in 1990 he has worked in private practice and has also set up and run an industrial patent department. Derek regularly teaches on CIPA's Core Skills Drafting and Amendment courses and tutors candidates for the European Qualifying Examination.
Tony Matthews B. Sc. has a degree in chemistry and marine biology. He joined Derek Jackson Associates in April 2001 and is taking his examinations to become a patent and trade mark attorney. Prior to joining the firm Tony has worked for ten years in research and development and is named as inventor in a number of patent publications.
Ian Pagan B. Sc. has a first class degree in Physics and Chemistry and thirty years experience working as a patent manager for a number of UK companies. He is a consultant to Derek Jackson Associates and assists primarily in the areas of drafting and conducting watching searches.
